Our hospital operates on a triage system. We assess our patients’ needs as they come in, and patients are seen according to their medical need (not the time of their arrival).
After you come in, your pet will be brought to the treatment area to be triaged and assessed by our technicians and doctors. If your pet is in need of immediate treatment or monitoring, then your pet will remain in the treatment area. If your pet is not in need of immediate treatment, your pet will be brought back to wait with you in the waiting room, so he or she can be as comfortable as possible until a veterinarian is available.
If your pet is in critical condition we may ask permission to place an IV catheter, give IV fluids, take radiographs (x-rays), and/or give pain medication as necessary in order to stabilize your pet. |
