Sam Gallo DVM

Dr Gallo

Dr Gallo is a 1987 graduate of the Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine. Sam joined the CDAEC team in 1992 after 5 years in primary care practice. A 16 year veteran of emergency and critical care, Dr Gallo enjoys the unexpectedness of emergency medicine. “Just when you think you’ve seen it all, something new walks through the door!” When not working, he loves to cycle, ski/snowboard, cook and play with his 2 pit bulls, Spencer and Dutch.



Jennie Gavin DVM

Dr GavinDr. Gavin grew up in neighboring Glenville, NY. She attended Tufts University College of Veterinary Medicine and then completed an internship in emergency and critical care medicine at the New England Animal Medical Center in Westbridgewater, Ma. During her internship, she also rotated through the surgical and internal medicine departments. After practicing as an emergency veterinarian in Massachusetts, she moved back to her home town area in 2008 and joined our team.
Jennie's special areas of interest include the critical care aspect of veterinary medicine, feline medicine, ultrasound, exotics and wildlife. Dr. Gavin is continuously impressed by the strength of the human-animal bond. She lives with her husband and their 5 kids (4 cats and a guinea pig named Willie Nelson). Dr Gavin freely admits to being a "crazy cat lady" and is also crazy about beagles!

Al Lindsey DVM

Dr LindseyDr Lindsey is a graduate of Cornell University College of Veterinary Medicine in 1977. He went on to an Internship at Cornell in Large Animal Medicine, Surgery and Obstetrics. His professional career had been entirely in Vermont in Stowe, Middlebury, Manchester and Bennington until he joined the CDAEC in 2004.

Al feels strongly that the CDAEC has been the most fulfilling part of his career. Almost 30 years of experience mixes well with the expert knowledge andtraining of the new generation of emergency veterinarians.



Carol Pabin DVM

Dr Pabin Dr Pabin is originally from Ohio and received her Bachelors degree from The Ohio State University, followed by her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from Cornell College of Veterinary Medicine in 2002. She worked in general practice for 5 years in both New Jersey and Ohio before relocating to Upstate New York and transitioning into emergency medicine. She joined the staff of CDAEC in 2007. Her primary goal is to provide quality medical care and compassion for her patients while simultaneously supporting and educating their owners during times of illness and/or trauma that bring them to CDAEC. Carol's personal time is spent hiking, gardening and spending time with her husband and children.

Whitney Pressler DVM

Dr PresslerDr.Pressler was born in California and raised in Saudi Arabia, Boston and New York.  She graduated from Ross University Veterinary School and North Carolina State University in 2001.  She then went on to practice mixed animal primary and emergency care in Salem, NY and joined the CDAEC team in 2006. Whitney is especially interested in abdominal surgery and critical care.
She is happily married to her husband whom she met in vet school and shares 8 children with him – one daughter (Darwynn Leilani), 4 dogs (Taylor, Bear, Willow, Hannah) and 3 cats (Elsa, Kane, Jordan).
She enjoys hiking, biking, kayaking, snowboarding, snowshoeing and any other form of outdoor play.  She loves all dogs and cats – but has a special fondness for mutts and Rotties.

Jennifer Rogers DVM

Dr RogersOriginally from Westchester County, NY, Dr Rogers earned a Bachelor of Science degree at Binghamton University. She was then awarded a DVM degree at the University of Georgia College of Veterinary Medicine in 1998. Jennifer went on to an Internship at the Animal Medical Center in New York City in 1999. She joined our team at CDAEC in 1999 practicing emergency and critical care medicine and surgery. Dr Rogers has kept refreshed in Primary Care practice by filling shifts at local veterinarians in the Capital Region. You may have met her at: the Animal Care Hospital, Just Cats, Normanside Veterinary Clinic, Shaker Veterinary Hospital and The Animal Hospital. Her most recent excitement was the birth of her baby boy on May 8th 2008. Jennifer's primary goal and work mantra: To treat every patient with individual care based on the animal’s medical needs. To ensure maximum physical and emotional pain/distress prevention.

KatieTuffey DVM

Dr TuffeyDr Tuffey graduated from the University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine in 2003. She went on to an internship in emergency and critical care at Luoisville Veterinary Specialty and Emergency Services in Kentucky. Katie has continued in the field of emergency and critical care, working at two large 24 hour specialty and emergency hospitals before joining CDAEC in June 2008. Katie lives outside Saratoga with her husband Chris, an equine veterinarian, 2 dogs Evey and Kyah, 3 cats Palmer, Soleus and Tyzzer, 3 horses Pi, Tal and Visionary and a rooster named Henry. Emergency Care is her calling and dedication to the elimination of pain and suffering is her paramount concern.

Alisha Weissman DVM

Dr WeissmanDr. Weissman grew up in New York City and graduated from the business school at The George Washington University in Washington, D.C. with a bachelor’s degree in marketing. After working in advertising for a few years, she changed careers and attended NYU to complete the necessary coursework in order to attend veterinary school.
She recieved a veterinary doctorate degree from Tufts University School of Veterinary Medicine in 2006. Alisha completed an internship in small animal medicine and surgery at Veterinary Referral and Emergency Center in Norwalk, CT and joined us in 2007.She lives with her spouse, Rachael, their 3 dogs and 3 cats, and she is always looking for a game of pick-up ice hockey.

Todd Hufland LVT

Todd Todd is a lifelong Capital District resident and a Licensed Veterinary Technician. He is a 1992 graduate of S.U.N.Y. Delhi and started working at C.D.A.E.C. in 1993. He was promoted to the position of Assistant Manager in 2005.  He enjoys the challenges associated with emergency medicine because it allows him to use his knowledge and skills to their fullest.
When he is not working, Todd, a "do-it yourselfer", can be found working on his house and spending time with his wife Kerry. He and his wife are parents to Sabbyth, a threelegged Husky mix and six crazy cats.

Sally Morgan LVT

SallySally was born and raised in the Capital District. She has been a licensed veterinary technician since graduating from SUNY Delhi in 1983. Over the years, she has been employed in both day practice and Emergency medicine. She joined the staff of CDAEC in January 2006. In addition to being a technician, she became a member of the assistant management team in the fall of 2008. Sally enjoys the nurturing aspect of her job, and loves to give comfort and reassurance to the hospitalized patients while they are in the hospital, away from their homes & families. Sally is a busy mom of two wonderful teenagers, and also shares her home with Tacy, a black Laborador affectionately and lovingly named "Bad Dog", and two rescued cats.

Katie Van Slyke LVT

KatieKatie was born and raised on a family farm in Coxsackie, NY.  She attended college at SUNY Delhi, obtaining her degree in applied science.   She is a licensed veterinary technician and has worked in both small and large animal general practice and emergency medicine.  She came to CDAEC in 2007 and was promoted to assistant manager in 2009.  She enjoys the fast-paced environment and looks forward to every time she sends a happy pet home to their family.She enjoys camping with her family and her yellow lab BB.
